How to Replace the Zero Installation Purifier Wire Harness

Step 1. Pre-Disassembly and Safety
  • Unplug the Unit. Ensure the power cable is completely disconnected from the wall outlet before beginning.
  • Access: Remove the front panel and carefully disconnect the control board.
Step 2. Accessing the Internal Frame
  • Top Tank Removal: Lift the top tank off the unit and set it aside in a safe location.
  • Screw Extraction: * Locate and remove the primary screw located behind the top tank area. To safely access the bottom screws, slide the unit toward the edge of the table/counter until the screws are accessible from underneath. Keep the unit upright to maintain internal stability. (Unscrew 7 screws total: 4 on the bottom, 2 on the back panel, and 1 on top.)

Step 3. Separating the Shell
  • Frame Extraction: Once all screws are removed, gently slide the metal frame out of the plastic housing approximately halfway.
  • Disconnecting Leads: Before fully removing the frame, reach inside to disconnect any remaining wires and tubing attached to the front of the housing.
Step 4. Wire Harness Replacement
  • Documentation: Take clear photographs of all existing connections. This is a critical step to ensure the new harness matches the original configuration.
  • Removal: Remove the old harness by pulling back the plastic protective coverings.
    • Tip: Use pliers to pull the covering or use a fingernail at the tip to slide it back.
  • Switch Disconnection: To remove the metal prongs from the black switch, use a spoon or a thin flat-head tool. Insert it at the tip of the prong and push outward to release the tension.
Step 5. Reassembly and Testing
  • Integration: Reconnect all wiring and tubing as shown in the photographs from the previous section.
  • Closing the Unit: Slide the metal frame back into the plastic shell and reinstall all housing screws. Reattach the top tank.
  • Final Connections: Connect the new wire harness leads to the control board and snap the front panel back into place.
  • Functional Check: Plug the unit back into a power source and verify that the unit is operational.
