U1 Filter Replacement Schedule and How to Replace Filters

The U1 Space-Saving 4-in-1 Water Filter System uses quick-twist filters and a hydrogen module that are easy to replace without any tools. Here is when to replace each one and how to do it.

Replacement Schedule

  • QT Sediment and Carbon Pre-Filter — Every 6–12 months. This filter removes sediment, chlorine, and particles from your tap water before it reaches the RO membrane. Replace closer to 6 months on well water or high-sediment sources, or up to 12 months on municipal water supply.
  • QT Alkaline Post-Filter — Every 6–12 months. Adds minerals back to the purified water for better taste and a healthy pH balance.
  • QT 200 GPD RO Membrane — Every 12–24 months. The membrane handles the heavy-duty purification, removing up to 99% of dissolved impurities.
  • Hydrogen PEM Module — Every 6–12 months. This module infuses purified water with molecular hydrogen, delivering antioxidant benefits with a negative ORP reading.

How to Replace U1 Filters

  1. Unplug the U1 from the electrical outlet.
  2. Remove the supply tank from the base.
  3. Open the top panel to access the three filter compartments.
  4. Twist the filter you want to replace counter-clockwise to unlock it, then pull it straight out.
  5. Insert the new filter and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.
  6. Repeat for each filter you are replacing.
  7. Fill the supply tank with fresh tap water to the MAX line before placing it back on the U1.
  8. Plug the unit back in and run 2 filtration cycles to flush the new filters. Discard this water.

Important: Always fill the tank before placing it on the unit. If you fill it after, the system may not start filtering.
